Porcelain Dolls and Easter 2012

Just a little update on our little porcelain doll-Rosalie. I call her that because I've found it a common comment that we get about her. So many people say, "Oh, she looks just like one of those little porcelain dolls, with all that hair!" And it's true.

Rosie is really starting to develop personality. She's so aware of her surroundings and doesn't want to miss a thing that's going on around her. She has always followed me everywhere I go with her eyes and now she often gets distracted while eating to try and see or watch her brother or sister doing whatever wild and crazy thing they're usually up to. :) And Rosie has always been one that seems to play with her food (always pulling off and not staying latched on for very long at a time/smacking her lips/making loud sound effects) so this doesn't help. It's so bitter sweet and fun to see her growing and moving from that infant stage into the baby stage.

And on that note - we moved Rosie into her own room last night. I don't know why that always seems so hard for me to do but it is - I guess it's another physical reminder of how fast time is flying by - I mean gosh, Rosalie is already 3 1/2 months now!

EASTER 2012

The Easter bunny always leaves an easter egg trail from the kids' beds that leads them to the treasure he's left for them.

When Vanna woke up, she came into the bathroom where I was getting ready for Church and said, "Mom, I see eggs," with such a peculiar/surprised look on her face. I told her to go wake up her brother and we would follow the eggs to see where they led. So she did and they found:

Cash got a new Disney Pixar LeapPad game, Lion King DVD, Avatar Glider and an Easter book. Vanna got a Tangled LeapPad game, a sweater, white shoes and tights to go with her Easter dress and an Easter book. They each got one little thing of candy and that is what got the most notice and attention at first glance from our "sweet tooth Vanna". Rosie got a Poppity-Pop Musical Dino game that we hope she'll love here in a couple months.

The kids coloring eggs. Vanna gets so silly when I pull out the camera anymore - this is the best shot I got of her.

We just did our own easter egg hunt in the house this year and the kids had such a ball,. I loved that we also got to see every little reaction and excitement over finding each egg that I don't know if we'll ever go back to the big hunts where they have to compete with so many other kids and we almost lose them in the chaos of it all. We had a great time!

All in all, we had just a simple, beautiful Easter.  We were actually able to spend it together. Ty has been gone most Sundays so far this year, to Ward Conferences with the Stake and I've realized how much I took him and his help on Sundays for granted.  I've felt like I've had my hands full with Primary, Ward Council meetings, a nursing baby and two other little ones during Sacrament all on my own.  BUT, Ty was able to attend Church with me in our ward on Easter Sunday and it was SO NICE!

It was Fast Sunday in our ward on Easter, which made it different, but it was nice to hear testimonies shared regarding our Savior and His glorious ressurrection.  Some friends of mine, who recently lost a sweet baby girl, were on my mind the whole day, and in particular, during Fast and Testimony Meeting.  I was reminded  of how grateful I am for our Redeemer, Jesus Christ who came to Earth and did all that He was asked to do - who ministered to those around Him and provided us a perfect example to follow - who suffered in Gethsemane to better understand our pains and sorrows and to conquer sin, that we might be forgiven of our sins and one day be worthy of exhaltation - who died and three days later was ressurrected, thereby also conquering death, that we might live with those we've lost, with those we love, in eternal joy and happiness.  I know this to be true and am so grateful for this knowledge-for what Easter represents to us, for our Savior-and I pray this knowledge might bring peace and give strength to everyone and in particular those who struggle through significant trials.
