Family Home Evening

We had a fun Family Home Evening last night. We colored eggs and then talked about how each color of egg can represent something to help us remember Jesus (Yellow: Sunshine-the radiance of Jesus; Red-the blood of Jesus; Purple: Jesus' royalty; Green: Nature-Life; Black: our sins; White: Light-Purity and Joy). We went into a little detail with each color and then we talked about what Easter is really about.
Whether or not Cash got much from the lesson I'm not sure but he sure loved coloring the eggs. He was very good at stirring them to make sure they were evenly colored. He was also good at putting stickers on the eggs and cracking them when they were all done because he just had to hold them-and inevitably he would drop them and crack them. Oh well. Good fun!

We were goingto do that but it will have to wait for another time this week. We ended up starting the seeds that will go in our garden this year. The kids each got to pick one thing that they really wanted, mostly pumpkins, and plant them.

What a great idea! I might have to steal this one. And I just have to say, you look great, Erica!

I'm stealing the idea too! What a neat way to combine the easter bunny with the true meaning of Easter. And you have no idea how much Cash is learning from you! One day, he'll say something in a prayer, or you will overhear him talking while playing, and he'll say something that will blow you away!!! Just wait! I miss your cute little family!!

What neat way to incorporate something about the Savior into Easter. Easter is my favorite holiday because it doesnt seem quite as commercial as Christmas.
You are a great example.
Happy Easter.
